Roger has had a life time involvement in Pure Bred Dog activities, after being given his frst dog, a Welsh Corgi (Pembroke) as a 5-year old in 1943. Roger gained his All Breeds Judging Licence in 1966 and was a Full Obedience Judge from 1958 to 1985. He has judged in all States & Territories of Australia, New Zealand, England, Sweden, Canada, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, China, Indonesia, Philippines and Argentina, and the Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane Royal Shows. Roger purchased his frst Golden Retriever in 1957 and still exhibits Golden Retrievers under the “Taumac” prefx, with great success. He was the President of the Golden Retriever Club of Victoria and Golden Retriever Council of Australia. Roger was a member of the Victorian Canine Association (VCA) Management Committee for 25 years from 1974 and was Vice President from 1990 until his retirement in 1998. He was a VCA delegate to the Australian National Kennel Control (ANKC) for 10 years and has held multiple positions within most ANKC committees. Roger was the original Chairman of the Canine Research Foundation and still holds this position today.
