Louise was born into the dog world and became a member of the Cocker Spaniel Club of Victoria at age eight. Louise has successfully bred and shown top award-winning English Cocker Spaniels (under the Britebay prefx) with her mother since 1989. She previously held a a role on the Cocker Spaniel Club of Victoria committee as Editor of the publication Cocker News. Louise is treasurer of the Yarra Glen Kennel Club and a life member and Vice President of the Cocker Spaniel Club of Victoria Inc. Louise is acting Secretary and treasurer of the Canine Research Foundation.
