John graduated from the University of Auckland in 2002 with Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Political Studies) and for the next 8 years he worked in insolvency and construction litigation. Since 2010, John has worked exclusively in child protection and now he runs his own law frm. In 2014 John became a Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Specialist in Children’s Law. John’s association with pedigree dogs began in 2000 with Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers (“Tollers”) importing the frst of the breed into New Zealand. John and Pete (and Tollers) migrated to Australia in 2008 and they started conformation showing their Tollers in 2014. In 2015 John became the founding Secretary of the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club of Victoria Inc. and is currently the club’s 2nd President. Since 2015 John has sat on the Victorian Canine Association Disciplinary Committee hearing cases mainly involving animal welfare issues. John and Pete breed Tollers under the Tollerpoint prefx in Lilydale, Melbourne, Australia
