2016 Interclub Challenge
INTERCLUB OBEDIENCE CHALLENGE 2016
A wild and windy day greeted us as our team turned out for this year’s InterClub Challenge at Blacktown City Canine Centre on Saturday, 23 July.
Many thanks to Neta and Charlie (CCD), Jan and Bentley (Novice), Jean and Barrie with Lucy (Open), and Lynda and Shelby (Open) who competed in our team. Special thanks to our Reserve CCD, Wendy and Merlin, and also to our support team of Lyn and Ozzie, and Tim and Nikko.
Q. What do you think of when you think of Beardies and wild windy days?
A. Wild, windy dogs, of course!
Our dogs had a ball as they always do and we all had a very social and enjoyable day with plenty of delicious food to share.
Neta and Charlie got a second chance as they tied their score with a little West Highland White Terrier and had to do a “run off” to separate the scores whilst Barrie trialled Lucy for an injured Jean.
Obedience teams were down to about 22 with only three Breed Clubs entered this year for the Challenge which seems to be indicative of the sport at the moment. In its heyday the Challenge saw in excess of 46 teams!
Winners for the day once again were Blacktown Kennel & Training Club with the Golden Retriever Club of NSW in second place and Hills Dog Club placing third.
