Health Testing

Our girls carry the very rare heart protective gene NEBL3, dogs with the NEBL3 allele show smaller heart stats, indicating a reduced risk of severe MMVD.

Our girls and our carefully selected stud dog have all undergone comprehensive DNA testing. Through responsible breeding and careful genetic selection, we can ensure that our puppies will never be affected by the DNA-testable hereditary conditions listed below.

Our commitment to health testing gives our puppy families added confidence that we are doing everything possible to produce healthy, happy Cavalier King Charles Spaniels for generations to come.

  • Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)
  • Episodic Falling Syndrome (EFS)
  • Congenital Macrothrombocytopenia (CM)
  • Curly Coat Dry Eye Syndrome (CCDE)
  • ADAMTS3 (associated with Respiratory Distress Syndrome)
  • MCADD Medium-Chain Acyl-CoA Dehydrogenase Deficiency

We feed nutrient rich food

This nutrient-rich formulation is highly beneficial for pregnant, nursing dogs and puppies, providing essential protein, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, calcium, phosphorus, and DHA (an essential omega-3 fatty acid crucial for brain, eye, and heart health) to support the health of the mother and the healthy development of her puppies.

Key Ingredients and Their Benefits:

  • Chicken (meat, heart and liver): Provides high-quality protein and essential amino acids to support muscle development, tissue repair, immune function, and overall growth. Chicken liver and heart also supply iron, which helps produce healthy red blood cells.
  • Finely Ground Chicken Bone and Cartilage: Natural sources of calcium and phosphorus, essential for strong bones, healthy teeth, and proper skeletal development.
  • Blueberries: Rich in antioxidants that help protect cells from damage and support immune health.
  • Broccoli: Provides vitamins, minerals, fibre, and antioxidants that contribute to overall health and digestion.
  • Tomatoes: Contain antioxidants and nutrients that support immune function and cellular health.
  • Carrots: A natural source of beta-carotene, which supports eye health, immunity, and healthy skin.
  • Apples: Provide dietary fibre and antioxidants that support digestive and immune health.
  • Flaxseeds: Rich in omega fatty acids that promote healthy skin, a shiny coat, and support overall wellbeing.
  • DHA (Omega-3 Fatty Acid): Important for brain, cognitive, and retinal development in puppies. DHA may also support heart health, memory, joint mobility, immune function, skin and coat condition, and help reduce inflammation.
  • Prebiotics and Probiotics: Support a healthy digestive system and promote beneficial gut bacteria.
  • Vitamins and Minerals: Help support growth, immune function, bone development, metabolism, and overall health.
  • Amino Acids: Essential building blocks for muscle growth, tissue repair, nutrient transport, and healthy body function.

All designed to support healthy growth, strong bones and teeth, cognitive development, digestion, immune health, skin and coat condition, and overall wellbeing.

We also look after their minds as we do ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) and ESI (Early Scent Introduction) from day 3. These short, daily handling and scenting routines can jumpstart a puppy's brain development, resulting in better stress tolerance, stronger immune systems, and superior scenting abilities as adult dogs.

As they grow and weather permits, they are introduced to a variety of environments and experiences to help build confidence and adaptability. They receive plenty of socialisation and are regularly handled by adults and children.
