Australasian/Futurity Sweepstakes
The Australasian & Futurity Sweepstakes will be offciated by three international breeed specialist judges.
QUALIFYING REQUIREMENTS
The Australasian and Futurity Sweepstakes at the 12th Beagle National are for dogs that have received at least one qualification since the 11th Beagle National 2023.
Australasian Sweepstakes - Eligible beagles must have been awarded CC or Reserve CC at a Beagle Speciality or State Royal Show since the11th Beagle National 2023.
Futurity Sweepstakes - Eligible beagles must be no older that three years of age at the commencement of the 12th Beagle National and have been awarded a Class in Show at a Beagle Speciality or State Royal Show.
JUDGING PROCESS
A pre-judging process will take place with each judge undertaking an initial examination of each beagle prior to the elimination rounds.
Elimination rounds will commence after the examination of all exhibits entered in the sweepstakes.
Elimination consists of a series of rounds between two dogs. The number of rounds will be determined by the number of dogs entered in the sweepstakes competition. It maybe necessary for some dogs to be given a 'bye' in some rounds.
Each round will be judged by the three judges, with the winner of that round progressing to the next round and the dog with the least amount of votes being eliminated. Elimination rounds will continue until there is an ultimate winner.
Paddles will be used to indicate the winner of each round.
REGISTERING YOUR BEAGLE ON THE DAY
There will be a list of those beagles who have entered in the Australasian and Futurity Sweepstakes with the Show Secretary. Please register no later than 8.30am on Wednesday 28th to compete in the sweepstakes. Any beagle not registered, absent or withdrawn will not be eligible to compete. At the completion of registration, a random draw will be udertaken to determine the matches. A draw will be displayed ringside.
PRESENTATION DINNER
A casual presentation dinner is planned for the evening of Thursday 29th October at the Bulla Exhibition Centre. Payment for the Presentation Dinner is now on Showmanager. Dinner will be at the Calabrian Dining Room at 6pm. Dogs can be left in their trollies, crates etc in the show area that is right next door to the dinner venue. This will be a two course dinner with drinks available at the Bar. Dinner tickets must be purchased to attend the dinner. Please order via Showmanager or email [email protected] with your numbers.
EXHIBITOR GET TOGETHER
At the conclusion of Dog judging on Wednesday 28th of October, the Beagle Club of Victoria will be hosting a complimentary Grazing Table for all, ringside at the Bulla Exhibition Centre. We hope you can all join us for a delicious spread catered by the wonderful Colleen Morgan.
CATERING
There is no catering available at the National Show. The Beagle Club of Victoria will be supplying a light lunch each day for exhibitors. The Calabrian Bar will be open between 9am and 2pm for drinks & coffee.
BATHING FACILITIES
Bathing facilities are available at nearby Sunbury.
