Therapy Dog at Child Youth Mental Health Services in Tasmania on a weekly basis.
I am Mel Ell and this is Dio (Aus Ch Indianspirit Poes Ghost TK.N HT RN), a 17 month old, and the only one of his breed living in Tasmania, Australia. Having done dog sports with two other spitz breeds for over 10 years, I was looking for a breed that combines athleticism with brains and loyalty and came across the YL, and Dio did not disappoint! In our short time together he already has earned his confirmation Champ (with many class wins) as well as being the first YL in the country to get Tricks (2), Herding, and Rally titles, 4 titles already! We are also working towards his agility, obedience, DWD, and scentwork debuts! He is also a therapy dog working with me in therapy sessions with kids and adolescents. Dio is a sweet and caring family dog as well. He has really made me fall in love with the breed, and I thank his wonderful breeder Chris Wells for trusting him to me. I’m so excited for what the future has in store for us!
