About us

In 2021 a new life began for us with the purchase of our first Kerry Blue Terrier, a lovely little girl who we named  Charli Bean. From the first day that we took her home, she became the centre of our universe with her hilarious antic, her stubborn nature, and most importantly, her total uninhibited love for us. From that day forward our unbridled love of the breed was formed.

The breeder of Charli shows her Kerrys and from the first time she groomed our very hairy little girl and exposed the puppy underneath, she encouraged me to show her. Showing Bean has been a labour of love with my healthy, well-tempered, and show-worthy Kerry Blue Terrier.  DanuClaire has achieved success in the show ring with Charli, who is an Australian Champion and well on her way to a Grand Champion. Over the past few years, I have gained invaluable knowledge of the breed. Along with copious amounts of web surfing, I now have the knowledge required to breed these wonderful dogs. Our dream at DanuClaire is to breed the best healthy and well-tempered Kerrys that we are capable of and to see this rare and relatively unknown breed become a familiar sight and more available both to pet homes and show homes.

At DanuClaire Kerry Blue Terriers, our breeding philosophy revolves around maintaining breed standard while prioritising health, temperament, and conformation. We are ecstatic to have purchased some semen from the very prestigious kennel, Irisblu in N. Ireland. Harold and Helena Quigg of Irisblu have bred some of the best Kerrys I have seen, winning the most significant shows in the UK, USA, Europe, and Australia. The kennel carefully selects breeding pairs based on their genetics, ensuring that only the best traits are passed down to future generations. By conducting thorough health screening and genetic testing, DanuClaire can provide puppies that have the best chance at a long and healthy life.

We recognise the importance of early socialisation and training for puppies. From an early age, the puppies will be exposed to various stimuli, environments, and experiences to help them develop into well-rounded and confident dogs. The puppies will be brought up in our home and potty training will be underway before a puppy goes to its new home. The puppies will come with a starter pack with useful items and tools to bring up a healthy Kerry Blue Terrier, and will have had their first inoculations and vet checks. We will also provide guidance and support to new owners, offering resources and advice on training, grooming and general care to ensure a smooth transition for both the puppy and its new family. And that support and guidance are offered for the life of your new family member.

As it is of paramount importance that our puppies only go to the very best homes, our prospective puppy owners will be vetted to ensure their suitability, being pet home or show home.
