Memories

In late 1972  we returned to New Zealand with twin boys,  and  Enchantress in whelp to Eng & Aust  Ch Wyeford Black Tweed.  The plan was to get a nice bitch puppy to go on with when we were less busy with the family,  but Enchantress produced four dog puppies !   The ony red/white was a stand out from day one.

 James, as we called him won at his very first show, and sired a multi Spec BIS winner in his proving litter.  His progeny were very recognisable both in type and most had his superb nature as well.   He won many Spec BISs himself but was often beaten by his daughters in later years.  After his retirement from the show ring ( following his BOB NZ National aged 8 years)  he did a little obedience and excelled there too.

We bought in a well bred bitch to breed to James,  and while she wasn't what we hoped,  she did, in her only litter produce our own favourite Jamie daughter,  Ch Anwyl Starry Night,  along with two big winning males,  Ch A Star Shaker and Star Gazer. 

Starry Night,  bred to Ch Bowmore Mark Time,  gave us three Best In Show winning Champion bitches;  Ch Anwyl Marchen,  Ch Anwyl Marquisite and Ch Anwyl Marsala.  Marsala won Best in Group at the NZ National  two years in a row, and was Res Best in Show the second time.

All breeds  and Specialty  Best in Show winner.  Unfortunately Marsala never had babies.

To Mark Time's son, Ch Bowmore More Time, ( who was an Enchantress grandson), she had another two champion daughters  Ch Anwyl  Evening Star and  Ch  Anwyl Morning Star.  Both these bitches produced several champions.

And by  "More Time's  "  son,  Ch Anwyl Dreamtime   ( a grandson of Ch Anwyl Danielle), another three champions:       Ch Anwyl Dream Maker,  Ch Anwyl Dream On A Star   and   Ch Anwyl " Gold" Star Dream.  The other two in the litter both won CCs and produced champions for other people.  

"Gold" the one that stayed on at Anwyl was bred to our new English import ,  Belroyd Ocean Flyer (Imp UK)  for his proving litter and we retained a lovely bitch puppy  (Ch )  Anwyl Flight of Fancy .  Fancy is pictured below at 9 months old.

 

 Ocean Flyer  ," Luke ",  was a bit like James,  he started his stud career by giving every indication of what was to come !
