Facts

Golden retrievers have gentle natures and are highly intelligent. They love to please and be in close contact with their owners. They are easy to train, love the water and to play and retrieve. Of course this is what they were bred for!

They are a medium size dog and stand approx. 56-61 cm with males being stlightly taller than females. They weigh 25-34 kg. and need regular light exercise to stay fit and healthy.

Golden retrievers have hereditary problems and responsible breeders screen their dogs for eye and heart conditions and choose from dogs with low hip and elbow scores in an effort to help reduce any chance of hip dysplasia. Prospectifve puppy owners can always view hip/eye scores and current eye and heart certificates.
